franakin-skywkr:

The Hermit

Represents the journey of self-enlightenment. The hermit is old and decides to live alone; he is discontent with society, becomes reclusive and withdraws. He travels at night, carrying a lantern. By shedding light on and seeing things that only occur at nighttime, he realizes the other half of life that he had previously missed out on, literally illuminating his mind.

He represents introspection, self-reflection and discovery through isolation. For many musicians and artists, this phase is entered and then left with new insight and a peak in creativity.
